Our Story
Louise Russell, Director of Emsworth Meridian Singers, has been organising events and running regular choirs / masterclasses / workshops and training sessions for 27 years. The Meridian Singers' earliest roots can be traced back to a start-up initiative in 1997 with a concert held at The Chapel, Bishop Otter College (Chichester University); Louise continued to hold regular concerts in Chichester at Ede's House, St. Paul's Church, Vicar's Hall, Bishop's Palace Kitchen, Chichester Cathedral, the Assembly Rooms in North Street, and Bishop Otter College, up until 2005.

At that time we started up a choir group in Vicar's Hall, Chichester, which was then relocated to Emsworth. This was a Vocal Development Group which doubled up as regular choir, 'rescuing' the previous Meridian Singers which had folded - and which was subsequently re-named the Emsworth Community Singers (of course now known, once again as the Meridian Singers). We, as well as a renaissance group, were the only choirs meeting in Emsworth, but over time, several more sprung up also meeting on Wednesdays, which necessitated our switching evenings in order not to conflict. We now meet on Friday evenings at the Emsworth Methodist Church, be sure to try us out and hopefully be part of our journey!
Set List
California Dreamin'. Let's Go Fly A Kite. Irish Blessing. Singing In The Rain. Top Of The World. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah. Ave Verum. Catch A Falling Star. Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Hakuna Matata. The Greatest Showman. Can't Help Falling In Love. Moon River. And Many More!
